Call of Duty, a franchise that used to be very well made has gradually declined over the years. Developers of this franchise used to put a lot of time and effort into developing this game into a fun game, that had a nice community. However, the thirst for money led to hurried game developments and TONS of downloadable content(DLC). Most of the franchise’s fan-base realized that the developing team’s drive to make games was a hunger for money, and ended up in the loss of interest of many Call of Duty fans.
A game that used to be fun to play became repetitive and boring. The campaigns for each Call of Duty game have the same exact elements, which allow you to figure out what will happen next. The multiplayer mode has become pay-to-win, as they have added special weapons that you can only own if you are either extremely lucky, or you pay the money to have a chance to unlock one of those special weapons. Those special weapons are usually quite overpowered in many ways, that favor the pay-to-win players.
Recently, Activision announced the newest Call of Duty game, called Call of Duty: WWII. Seriously? A game that is based around the same exact time and war as Call of Duty: World at War? That just shows that Call of Duty developers are thirsty for money and are just reusing ideas for their franchise at this point. Plus, Call of Duty: World at War costs $19.99 compared to Call of Duty: WWII’s $59.99. Ridiculous!
(Life Lessons Learned)
I never realized how bad playing many hours of video games at a time can be for your eyes. When I was younger, I used to play about 7-9 hours of video games continuously without any breaks. Of course, I was young then, with no understanding about how my eyesight would get worse. I never knew my eyesight would get blurry and worsen after playing many hours at a time until one morning, I woke up and couldn’t see the other side of my room clearly. That day, I had to go to the optometrist to receive my first ever pair of glasses. Then I realized that your eyesight would slowly wear out after playing video games for many hours at a time. So nowadays, I try my best to take breaks in between gaming sessions, by focusing my vision somewhere else from my screens for at least a minute. Sometimes, I go out with my friends to play some basketball at a court next to my neighborhood.

Yesterday, Russell Westbrook broke an amazing NBA record that was previously made by Oscar “The Big O” Robertson. The NBA record broken was the amount of triple-doubles in a single season. The Big O had made the record with 41 triple-doubles, which was broken by Westbrook with 42 triple-doubles! He had a monster game that day, with 50 points, 16 rebound and 10 assist performance at Denver. To cap it all off, Westbrook even made the game-winning shot for his team, which was a 35-footer, at Chef Curry range!

To cap this season off for Westbrook, he even had averaged a triple-double! This new record will most likely never be broken again. But who really knows? After this historic night, it proves that just anything can be done.
There are always times when time seems to slow down, and 10 minutes feels like an hour. This always seems to occur when you are bored. When you are bored, you do not have any interest in the activity you are performing, or are unoccupied. These are some ways to reduce the feeling of boredom.
- Flip a water bottle(WARNING: This may annoy your parents, or anybody around you).
- Waste your productivity on playing video games(I do this quite a lot).
- Work on projects that you have been procrastinating on.
- Make a blog.
- Post on your blog.
- Spam your friends with messages on any social media, and tell them “just a prank”.
- Juggle fruit.
- Juggle tennis balls, or even golf balls.
- Look at humorous GIFs.
- Go to sleep.
Things are always buzzing in the NBA, whether its news about a team or a single player. I will list some news that I am quite interested in.
- After All-star weekend, DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins was traded from the Sacramento Kings to the New Orleans Pelicans for Buddy Hield and a couple other future NBA Draft picks.
- Charles Oakley was recently caught up in a bit of trouble involving physical and verbal attacks. He was arrested and also kicked out of the New York Knicks arena (Madison Square Garden) for harassing a security guard.
- The ice has been broken between Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant during the All-Star game. Many people were anticipating the usual, but the alley-oop from K.D. to Brodie seemed to assist in renewing their friendship.
This is all of the news that I will show for now, until next time.
I had never known that the game called Insurgency was such a fun game. It did not really have a large amount of hype prior to its reveal. At the time, not many people talked about the game or wrote articles about it. It had a few bugs during beta-testing that could have completely messed up the game-play if they were left alone. Plus, not many people had been able to test the beta.
If my friend hadn’t asked me to check out the game, I wouldn’t have played it. Currently, it costs a total of $9.99 on Steam. It also has a decent rating from Metacritic. It has won a few awards from the beginning of its release until now. The awards include: IndieDB Indie of the Year 2014 (Player’s Choice), and IndieDB Indie of the Year 2014 (Editor’s Choice).

After I tried out the game for myself and learned how to play correctly, I found it very, very immersive. It is very realistic; the game involves bullet drop, a realistic sound system, and also realistic graphics, which can be adjusted if your computer cannot handle it. There are a variety of weapons for use. Also, you can even download mods to slightly change the way you play or even see the game. These are the main reasons why it has become one of my favorite video games.
After all this, I play Insurgency quite a bit. Currently, I have about 300 hours in total, and also have downloaded and installed about 100 mods. Usually, I play the game weekly with my buddies competitively, having won 276 matches in total.
